Hi! Thank you for visiting my website!
My name is Jiwoo Kim, and I am a Korean Canadian animator based in Calgary. I graduated from the Alberta University of the Arts with a Bachelor of Design and a minor in Animation. I have always been drawn to animation for its ability to engage and connect with people on a deep emotional level. Through my work, I retell everyday experiences and struggles in absurd and comical ways, offering new perspectives for navigating difficult situations. I often explore the theme of love and how it can appear in many different forms and shapes.
I am currently working on a personal project titled Cowman, a love story between a hardworking farmer and his beloved cow. Together, they face strange and difficult challenges, undergo dramatic transformations, and ultimately persevere through their unique way of seeing the world. Cowman is set to be completed in summer 2025 and will be submitted to festivals afterward.
I also have experience working with kids as an animation facilitator and occasionally take part in local markets here in Calgary. I am passionate about contributing to a creative and diverse art community, and I would love to collaborate if you have any ideas.
